Season 1

Season 1 was premiered on 8-7-2005 and the opening episode from series was entitled ‘You can’t miss the Bear’. Season one introduces us with Nancy, a single mom who starts selling weeds for the living of her family after the death for her husband. As the series begins, her husband Judah dies and she have no source of income so decides to earn by selling something that’s socially prohibited. To keep it safe and hidden from the rest of the community she buys a shop and starts selling cakes (and also weeds). Her real business is no longer under threat. Actually, it’s the idea of her pot smoking accountant Doug. Nancy has two kids Shane and Silas. Another family member is Uncle Andy who does a poor job and lives with them to help support them. As the season comes to an end, Nancy meets Peter and spends a night with him. After the one night stay with him, she discovers that he’s working for DEA. Season finale was entitled ‘The Godmother’ and was aired on 10-10-2005.

A security guard jacks Nancy on campus and Heylia teaches her a $14,000 lesson. Alejandro insists that she needs his protection. Celia and Doug both make a kitchen talk. Maggie thinks to replace Celia as the head of the PTA. Shane’s unexpected behavior prompts his mom to consider medication.
